You lucky Tyros owners

Chris Hammond

Locked away in that little silver keyboard that you keep in the corner of your room, are over five-hundred of the worlds finest bands, groups and orchestras all quietly waiting, poised and ready to perform at our command, the power that we have at our fingertips is simply astonishing and all we have to do is turn on and play. Indeed if you are lucky enough to own a Yamaha Tyros 4 or Tyros 5  then I can’t imagine there is too much elbow room inside your keyboard because you have these boys (and girls) in there:

The Seattle Symphony Orchestra has had 12 Grammy nominations and two Emmy awards

Yes, that is the Seattle Symphony Orchestra and yes they really do live inside your Tyros, (if you listen carefully you can hear them tuning up!). When you select ‘Real Strings’ as your voice what you are actually hearing is live recordings or ‘samples’ of the Seattle Symphony Orchestra, and Yamaha’s boffins, using their highly developed skills in making things easy, make sure that when you play high up the keyboard you hear all the violins and violas playing and as you play further down the keyboard you hear the cellos and the double basses, quite wonderful isn’t it?

Interesting fact: Seattle was the first city in the USA to play a Beatles song on the radio.

In Seattle this Friday night it will cost a local person $112 for a ticket to watch them perform, you and I however simply have to switch on and play, just think about that next time you’re sat at your Tyros.
