What are the main differences between the Yamaha Arius and Clavinova ranges? Both are staples in Yamaha’s range of digital pianos and at first glance, it is not obvious what the main differences are between them. This is where I come in. Here is my basic description of each range.
The Yamaha Arius in my mind says the word ‘well rounded’. I say this because they suit everyone from beginner to advanced players. They are perfectly accommodating for any piano player of any skill set. The Arius range tends to have a more stripped down and simplistic design but is not a bad thing by any means. It just means that you have the core essentials to work with, sometimes less can be more.
The Clavinova range is where we really start to see Yamaha’s trademark characteristics and excellent technology shine through. Here we begin to see how well Yamaha can re-create the feeling of a traditional piano in a modern setting with the sole focus being on the quality feel of the instrument. Think of the Calcinova range as a slightly more in-depth piano when compared to the Arius range.
I’ll try to keep this simple for easy listening. Are you a beginner or feel like you need a course instrument. The Yamaha Arius range is for you. Are you a more advanced player? Or are you buying a family instrument that many people of many levels are going to play? The Clavinova range is your best bet.
I hope that helps!
