There’s something quite funny about the Yamaha Tyros 5.
I can sit down at all sorts of newer keyboards with bigger screens and more features… and yet, when I go back to a Tyros 5, I find myself smiling within about ten seconds.
It just feels right.
If you’ve ever owned a Tyros before, you will know exactly what I mean.
Before you read any further, have a quick watch of the video below.
I spend a bit of time actually playing the Tyros 5 and talking through why I still rate it so highly.
I’ll say it straight.
The Tyros 5 is the best Tyros Yamaha ever made.
It is the point where everything came together. All the things Yamaha got right in the earlier models are still there, but they are refined, polished, and just that bit more enjoyable to play.
The sounds have more depth.
The styles feel more complete.
And overall, it just feels like a finished instrument.
Not something you are trying to work out. Something you can just sit down and enjoy.
This is the bit I really like.
You sit down at a Tyros 5 and nothing feels strange.
All the familiar things are still there:
So instead of thinking “how does this work?”, you are straight into playing.
It feels like an upgrade, not a relearning exercise.
And that is a big deal.

This is a lovely step up.
Everything you already enjoy is still there, but it sounds better, feels richer, and responds in a more satisfying way.
The styles have more life in them.
The voices are more expressive.
And although the Tyros range has always had a proper three-way speaker system with a floor subwoofer, the Tyros 5 takes that a step further.
The sound feels richer, deeper, and more balanced compared to earlier models, including the Tyros 4.
It fills the room in a more natural way and gives you that “finished” sound without needing to think about it.
It is one of those moments where you play a few chords and think, “yes… that’s exactly what I want”.
This is where things get interesting.
Moving to a Tyros 5 is not just a step up, it is a move into Yamaha’s flagship level.
You get:
And again, the speaker system plays a big part.
PSR-S models are excellent, but they have to keep things compact. The Tyros 5 does not have that limitation.
With its separate speaker system and subwoofer, the sound is bigger, fuller, and more immersive.
It feels less like a keyboard on a stand, and more like a proper instrument in the room.

The Tyros 5 is no longer in production, which means the only way to get one now is on the pre-owned market.
The good news is that well looked after examples are still absolutely superb instruments, and that is exactly what we focus on.
All of the Tyros 5 models we offer are:
We are very particular about what we sell, so if it is on our site, it is something we are happy to stand behind.
And when you combine that with the level of performance the Tyros 5 offers, the value is very hard to ignore.
If you want to take things a step further, we also offer an optional upgrade package.
We will:
So when it arrives, it is not just ready to go, it is properly set up to be enjoyed.

If you already have a keyboard at home, there is a very good chance we can help you move up to a Tyros 5.
Whether it is an earlier Tyros, a PSR-S model, or something completely different, we take part exchange on all sorts.

Quite often, people are pleasantly surprised at how little it costs to make the change.
We try to make the whole process as easy as possible.
We can:
And once you have it, you are not on your own.
We offer 6 days a week technical support by phone, email, and video call.
You will also have access to David and Chris, the Tyros Tipsters.
So if you ever get stuck, we are here.
If you have enjoyed playing a Tyros in the past, this is one of those upgrades that just makes sense.
You sit down, everything feels familiar, and within a few minutes you are enjoying it.
Only now, it sounds fuller, feels more refined, and gives you that bit more every time you play.
We see it time and time again. People sit down at a Tyros 5 and very quickly settle into it, but with a smile.
If that sounds like you, it is well worth a closer look.
