Let’s be honest — in today’s world, cost is king. With the price of everything shooting up faster than a Yamaha key action, getting the most bang for your buck has never been more important. And when it comes to digital pianos, buying used is one of the smartest moves you can make.
At ePianos, we’re fussy — like, really fussy — about the condition of our preowned instruments.
Our warehouse team grades each piano meticulously across 10 categories, with an overall score out of 100. Trust me, our standards are sky-high. If a piano doesn’t meet them, it doesn’t go on our website. Simple as that.
Buying from us means you’re getting a quality instrument you can count on.

One of my favourite insider tips?
When it comes to Yamaha CVPs, going for an older ’09’ model can often give you more spec and features than a newer ’01’ or ’05’ version — at a fraction of the price.
Sure, the sound engine might be a few years behind, but you’ll often get way more voices, styles, and overall functionality. It’s a clever little hack we often share with our customers.
Everyone — from parents buying their child’s first piano, to players looking to upgrade without completely raiding the piggy bank.
Especially for beginners, it just makes sense. You’re making a smaller investment early on — and if little Timmy ditches piano for drums in six months (don’t cry), you’re not out a fortune.
Now, I get it.
Buying second-hand privately — on Facebook or eBay — can be sketchy. It’s a bit like playing piano in the dark: you might hit a good note, but you might also end up in a musical horror story.
But when you buy used from ePianos, you’re protected.
We back up every used piano sale with a one-year warranty, and with our five-star reviews and legendary YouTube demos, you know you’re buying from people who actually care about what they’re selling.

As for sound quality and playability? Honestly, if you’re buying a reasonably modern used digital piano (look for USB ports as a good indicator!), you’re still in a very safe place.
Digital pianos are super consistent because they’re electronic — unlike an old acoustic piano, they don’t “fade” in the same way.
The sound and touch will still deliver exactly as intended, even years down the line.
Here’s the cherry on top:
By going used, you can often afford a bigger, better, more premium-feeling piano than you could if you stuck to new.
Instead of settling for the most basic model in a new range, you might find yourself owning a beautifully-built cabinet model with a richer sound system and a much more satisfying feel.
If you’d like to see exactly what we mean, Chris recently made a video explaining and demoing why buying a used keyboard is such a smart move- so you can hear the quality for yourself.
You’ll find the video over on our TikTok page — we’re posting loads of fun and useful content there lately, so make sure to go follow us @epianosuk if you haven’t already!
