Welcome to our very first TikTok round-up! 🎉
This month, we’ve launched headfirst into sharing more of what actually goes on at ePianos – the fun bits, the flustered bits, and the musical experiments in between.
If you’re someone with the attention span of a gnat (like me) then TikTok is absolutely the place to catch us. We’re posting behind-the-scenes clips, unboxings, gear reveals, and even the odd video of us trying to figure things out on the fly.
Here’s what we’ve been up to this July…
So I decided to see if it’s actually possible to learn piano in 2025 without a piano teacher. Brave, I know.
In this series, I’ve been testing out every modern tool I could get my hands on – from Flowkey and Smart Pianist to YouTube tutorials and even Duolingo.
Flowkey honestly blew me away. You can loop tricky sections, choose which hand to focus on, and there’s even music theory built in. Plus, the song I learnt on there – Happy Birthday, a certified banger – has genuinely stuck with me. I’m going to become the worst person to invite to birthday parties because I will be whipping that out, each and every time.
YouTube’s great too – mainly because you can go entirely at your own pace. And by that I mean: pause, rewind, overthink, repeat.
The Smart Pianist app on the CSP was so fun – I actually got to play songs I recognised (shout out to Taylor Swift’s “Lover”), and felt like a pop star for a second with all the backings and accompaniment.
Duolingo was surprisingly good too – it helped me learn to read sheet music in an engaging way (and kept things feeling like a game). But wow… if you don’t have Premium, you will be watching a lot of ads. Like, a lot.

@epianosuk ✨ Episode 2: Is it possible to learn piano without a teacher? ✨ This time I tried the Yamaha Smart Pianist app with my CSP-295 – it lights up above the keys which, I thought might just be a gimmick. But after a few attempts (and a lot of patience), I realised I was actually learning. Like, my hands just knew where to go. Wild. I picked Lover by Taylor Swift because obviously 💅 and I got a full-on backing track – not just me playing a melody. It felt like a proper performance and gave me a little confidence boost I wasn’t expecting. Also, the “Guide” setting waits for you to hit the right note before it moves on, which meant I wasn’t just winging it – I was actually learning the correct keys, muscle memory and all. I only explored a tiny part of what this app can do (theres loads to this app like personalising the sound of your piano and multi-track recording), but it’s been such a fun way to practise. @epianosuk 🎹 I kept putting this one off… I thought learning to read sheet music would be boring and too difficult — especially compared to the more interactive ways I’ve tried to learn piano. But Duolingo really surprised me — it teaches you so gradually that it never feels overwhelming. It’s kind of fun… and actually made me want to keep going. That said — the free version has toooooo many adverts. Eventually, I managed to play Twinkle Twinkle just by reading the notes (very slowly… but still!). Okay. Deep breath. This one was big.
We got our hands on the brand new Korg Kronos 3 – and let me tell you, we were buzzing to open it. This is one of the most powerful workstation keyboards Korg has ever released, and I had the absolute honour of doing the unboxing.

Depending on which option is most appropriate, we will either contact you to discuss a bespoke ePianos delivery surcharge for goods we can’t package for a 3rd party courier, or otherwise dispatch goods via FedEx or APC.

Smaller items, such as books, discs, etc, will be dispatched via Royal Mail second class.
After purchase, you can download the file either from the order confirmation page or the "Downloads" tab in "My Account".
If you have selected the option to receive a pre-loaded USB stick, then this will be dispatched via Royal Mail.
We will contact you regarding any pre-ordered items, and let you know when they arrive so as to arrange delivery with you at a convenient time.

Our seasonal opening hours are as follows:
We are closed on all bank holidays, therefore the processing of sales and deliveries will be delayed.
For orders of any stock displaying a 7-10 day lead time, we will contact you as soon as the item arrives with us to schedule a delivery with you.
Occasionally, there may be availability issues with our suppliers, in which case we'll get in touch with you to see if you're happy to wait, or if you'd like to cancel the order and receive a full refund.
This is a special order "agency" item, and comes to us directly from Yamaha on a per-order basis.
It typically takes 7-10 days for this item to arrive with us, whereupon we'll contact you to discuss the arrangement of delivery.
For any pre-orders, we will contact you as soon as the item arrives with us to schedule a delivery with you, and update you with an ETA.
Occasionally, there may be availability issues with our suppliers, in which case we'll get in touch with you to see if you're happy to wait, or if you'd like to cancel the order and receive a full refund.
