Every so often, some very special instruments land in our showroom – and we can’t wait to share them with you. In this Play it Again spotlight, we’re looking at three standout second-hand Yamaha digital pianos. Each one offers something unique, from portability to advanced hybrid technology.
We’ve just had a really nice condition Yamaha P-515 come in, and it’s a cracker.
This is a portable digital piano that works beautifully both on stage and at home. It’s light enough to move around – upstairs, into an office, or even tucked away when not in use – but don’t let its size fool you. This isn’t an entry-level instrument.
The P-515’s keys are full size, with wooden white keys that give an authentic, weighted feel. It responds with the same touch and nuance you’d expect from an acoustic piano, but with the lightness and sensitivity that makes playing effortless.
Sound-wise, it’s equipped with Yamaha’s world-class CFX concert grand sample, plus the Bösendorfer Imperial for a softer, more autumnal tone. Layer on strings or experiment with electric pianos, DX sounds from the ’80s, and even cathedral organs. There’s also a built-in metronome, rhythms to jam along with, and a 16-track recorder – perfect for composers and songwriters.
On top of that, the P-515 is compatible with Yamaha’s Smart Pianist app, letting you connect your device and expand your options further. And this particular second-hand model comes complete with a three-pedal unit and wooden stand, so it doubles up as a lovely piece of furniture.

Next up, we’ve got a polished ebony Yamaha CLP-735 Clavinova – a superb choice for students and progressing players alike.
The 88 weighted keys replicate the feel of a traditional piano, building the right muscle memory from the start. Simple controls mean you can just switch it on and enjoy, no tuning required. But with the touch of a button, you’ve also got access to two of the world’s greatest concert grands: Yamaha’s CFX and the Bösendorfer Imperial.
Like its bigger Clavinova siblings, the CLP-735 lets you add string accompaniments, explore different voices (organs, guitars, strings, and more), and even play with rhythms that give you a built-in drummer to practice alongside. Recording functions make it easy to separate hands and practise more effectively.
This second-hand model looks stunning in polished ebony, and it won’t be around for long.

Finally, something very special indeed: a used Yamaha AvantGrand N3.
This hybrid piano gives you the best of both worlds – the feel of a 9-foot concert grand with the practicality of digital. Sit down at the N3 and you’ll notice straight away that this is an advanced instrument built for expressive, ambitious playing.
Inside, it uses a full-length grand piano action, with keys balanced on a fulcrum for the same responsiveness as an acoustic grand. Wooden white keys deliver superb repetition and control, while Yamaha’s ingenious design even adds subtle vibrations to the keys, recreating the tactile feedback of a real concert grand.
The sound is breathtaking, yet you’ve still got the digital advantages of volume control, headphone practice, and zero tuning or maintenance. Even the cabinet is a masterpiece – complete with a full lid, elegant music rest, and beautifully finished interior details.
The AvantGrand N3 is one of the rarest and most exciting pianos to pass through our doors in years. If you’ve been waiting for your dream piano opportunity, this could well be it.
