Hi, David here from ePianos and Whitley Bay Organs — and today, I’ve got a real beauty to show you. It’s one of my all-time favourite Roland organs, and you’ll soon see why. This is the Roland AT-800, and it’s bursting at the seams with features that make it a joy to play. In fact, I’d go so far as to say it’s one of the finest home organs ever made.
What really stands out with the AT-800 is how easy it is to find just the right setting. Whether you’re diving into lush theatre organ tones, smooth strings, or a snappy jazz rhythm, it’s all intuitive and right at your fingertips. The cabinet itself is rock-solid — this one is the Full cabinet model, so you get fantastic built-in speakers that give you a rich, full sound without needing an external system.
It’s also got a lower keyboard that’s 76 notes wide with squared-off keys — much like a real piano — which means you can enjoy a bit of a piano-style feel without losing that classic organ playability. And while it’s not a weighted keybed, it is touch sensitive and still invites you to sit and play with expression in the piano mode.

There’s a handy brilliance control which lets you mellow out or brighten up any voice on the fly. It’s subtle, but it really makes a difference depending on the mood of the piece you’re playing.
And then we get to the good stuff: registrations! This AT-800 comes with a USB stick packed full of 26 banks of 12 voice settings — that’s over 300 curated combinations ready to go. Just load them up and you’re off. It might be the most voice-rich organ I’ve ever come across.
There’s a brilliant Music Assistant section too, where you can call up hundreds of familiar song setups (the names are disguised slightly for copyright reasons, but you’ll know them!). Everything is nicely orchestrated and ready to play along with.
For my fellow theatre organ fans, you’ll love the range of settings here. There are full pages of presets — tibias, glocks, buzzes, cinema-style tones — the whole Blackpool Tower experience at your fingertips.
But we’re not just talking theatre. There are classical sections with baroque, romantic, and choral options; European folk sounds; 60s and 70s pop; orchestral backings; pipe organs; jazz setups; and a fantastic “Basic” section that just gives you a bit of everything: combo organ, strings, human voice, piano, guitar, brass… all neatly arranged.

The rhythm section deserves a shoutout too. With ten rhythm button, each taking you to pages of styles and four variations per style, you’ll never be short of inspiration. Big Band is my personal favourite — the backing sounds truly fantastic — but there’s plenty to explore.
It also has drawbars for upper, lower, and pedal parts, and you can use the same drawbars to switch between flute, pipe, and theatre voicing. The touchscreen makes everything from editing registrations to layering sounds wonderfully simple.
And, of course, this one’s in excellent condition and ready to enjoy. It even has a pull-down lid — a nice touch for keeping the dust off.
