David here from ePianos and Whitley Bay Organs — and I’ve got an absolute belter for you today.
This beauty is the Roland AT80SL, and if you know your Roland organs, you’ll already be getting a bit twitchy with excitement. This one’s a bit of a hidden gem — a proper powerhouse in a smart cabinet, with that lovely colour touch screen and everything right where you want it.
Now, before we dive in, a quick tip: when you’re looking at Roland’s AT models, you might notice a bit of confusion with the labels — some use letters, some use numbers — but once you know what you’re looking at, it makes perfect sense. This is the SL version, which stands for “super lovely”… probably. Either way, it’s got all the bells and whistles.

What makes this organ special is just how much is under the bonnet. You’ve got four upper voice sections — organ, symphonic strings, orchestral, and solo — and each one has its own volume control so you can blend your sounds exactly how you like.
And here’s a brilliant touch: each voice has an “alternate” button — meaning you get double the amount of voices from each button. It’s like having a second voice ready to go at a moment’s notice. Tap the alternate, and jazz organ becomes combo jazz organ — lovely.
But wait, there’s more! Each section also has an “Others” button that brings up full categories: organ, strings, voice, piano, guitar, brass, sax, woodwind, lead, pad, bass, percussion… you name it. You can really go wild layering and selecting from the full palette.
One of my favourite areas? The human voice section. There’s a proper range here — from tenor and soprano to boy choir and classical choir. One press and suddenly you’re transported to the Sistine Chapel. It’s so expressive, so uplifting — you’ll be belting out “Ave Maria” before you know it.
Now, let’s talk about the backing styles. There are nine main categories — Big Band, Country & Gospel, Oldies, Ballad, World, Latin, March & Waltz, Traditional Showtime, and Acoustic.
Each one’s got a proper intro, and when you hit that Automatic Setup, it just gets on with it. You press a button and boom — you’re in a hoedown, or standing in a chapel with tolling bells echoing all around.
Some of the rhythms are properly orchestrated, too. Take the cinema section, for example — big, dramatic, and totally immersive. I had a play through boogie, festival, and even a cheeky mambo, and I’ll tell you what — this organ puts a smile on your face. It’s just got that joyful energy about it.

Honestly, the Roland AT80SL is one of those organs that makes playing fun again. It’s inspiring, it’s versatile, and it sounds fantastic. Whether you’re into ballads, big band, Latin rhythms or just noodling about with choirs and synths, this organ delivers.
And guess what — we’ve got this one in stock (ID: 9984) as part of our secondhand range.
