We’ve had a real treat of secondhand arrivals here at ePianos lately, so in this special Play it Again feature I’m combining three episodes into one blog. Between Chris and David, we’ve explored some very special instruments that have just come in – each one offering something unique for players at different stages.
When a flagship arranger keyboard comes through our doors, it always gets the pulse racing – and this one’s no exception. The Korg PA5X is their latest model, and the version we have here is the 88-key weighted model, which means you get a full piano feel as well as all the arranger power you’d expect.
The pop-up tilting touchscreen is one of my favourite features. It makes navigating Korg’s brilliant new operating system simple and enjoyable, whether you’re picking out cinematic pianos, lush strings, or firing up one of the many built-in rhythms and chord sequences.
I found myself grinning when layering up orchestral textures and diving into the drawbar organ section – complete with a proper Leslie effect. It’s a real “player’s keyboard” that rewards exploration.
These PA5Xs don’t hang around for long in the secondhand world, especially in this configuration. If you’ve been hunting for one, this is a rare chance.

Now for something altogether different. The Yamaha NU1X is part of the AvantGrand hybrid series – instruments designed for pianists who want the feel of a true acoustic action without the strings and maintenance.
The keys are wooden, with longer travel and proper weighting, so when you sit down it feels instantly familiar if you’ve ever played an upright or grand piano. The sound, too, is rich and expressive, thanks to carefully positioned speakers (with little tweeters tucked neatly up top) and Yamaha’s high-end sound engine.
This NU1X focuses on piano authenticity above all else. Yes, it offers 15 voices (including electric pianos, organs, and even a piano-and-strings layer), but at heart it’s built for the purist pianist – the kind of player who just wants to sit down and play without distraction.
Brand new, these models are subject to long waiting lists, but ours is here and ready – in beautiful polished ebony with a soft-close lid.

Over to me now, and I’ve got something from the very top of Yamaha’s Clavinova CLP range (well, the range before the very latest one). This is the CLP-785 in polished ebony, and it’s a beauty.
From the moment you lift the soft-close lid, you can tell it’s a premium instrument. The white keys are wooden, the action feels superbly responsive, and the sound is powered by a beefy amplifier and bass speaker system hidden in the cabinet – no hollow space down there like the entry-level models.
Of course, you’re not limited to just one piano sound. You can switch between the Yamaha CFX concert grand and the Bösendorfer Imperial, giving you two world-class characters at your fingertips. And when you’re in the mood, you can layer in strings for a cinematic experience, or even split the keyboard for lessons with teacher and student side-by-side.
It’s the kind of piano that doesn’t just meet you where you are – it grows with you, letting you explore expression without limits.

We’re very selective with the secondhand instruments we take in – they’re already in great condition before we even touch them. Then our superb team of engineers refurbish and check them over to a high standard.
That’s why when you buy from us, you can feel confident you’re getting an instrument that will serve you well for years to come.
All three of these instruments – the Korg PA5X (#9987), the Yamaha NU1X (#10068), and the Yamaha CLP-785 (#10034) – are available to buy now from us here at ePianos.
