Hello there!
Oh, the weather’s been quite a surprise, hasn’t it?
Now, let’s chat about something interesting – the Yamaha Genos 2 keyboard. It’s a fantastic piece, but yep, it’s quite pricey.
Understandably, not everyone can afford such an expense. But, here’s a little secret for you: there’s a smaller, more affordable version known as the ‘Mini Genos’.

Yes, indeed, the ‘Mini Genos’ is a real thing. It comes in two versions: The Yamaha PSR-SX700 and PSR-SX900.
They’re similar to the big Genos but smaller, with 61 keys instead of 76 and built-in speakers.
This means they’re easier to move and don’t take up as much room, making them perfect for a cosy spot at home.
Chris has made a great video review of the Yamaha PSR-SX900 in his garden shed. It’s very thorough and worth a watch below.
The good news is these smaller keyboards are much more affordable than the big Genos 2. We also have some used ones available, which can help save even more.

Also, watching Chris’s video comparing the Yamaha PSR-SX600 to the PSR-SX700 is well worth a watch too, as it’ll help explain the differences between those two models – which are significant!
They might be small, but the PSR-SX700 & PSR-SX900 ‘mini Genos’ keyboards pack a punch with their sound.
It’s like playing the grand Yamaha Genos 2 but without the hefty price tag.
It’s a great way to get familiar with the Genos series, and it might just prepare you for a future upgrade.
Hope you have a lovely, music-filled Easter!
