A common question that people ask is… Do I really need a soundbar as an extra with my Korg? If I connect other speakers to my Korg, will I still get the best sound possible?
Simple is better in a lot of ways, and it does not get any simpler than the Korg PAAS. Its design is one of the easiest to connect in the keyboard world.
It simply just slides onto the back and locks into place. A magnetic connecter attaches itself to the keyboard allowing the signal of the sound to travel with ease and comfort.
Whereas using separate speakers, you will need multiple cables that must all be plugged into the correct corresponding outputs/ inputs.
This extra weight is not ideal for the travelling gigger. One extra cable in my eyes is one more cable to lose.
A compact set-up can be ideal for someone looking to pack a punch while keeping things simple.
The ‘best’ sound is always going to be subjective, so I will keep to the facts. In the same way that iPhones work the best with apple earphones, Korg keyboards will perform their absolute best with a Korg branded PAAS.
The two just link together perfectly in simple terms. Korg designed the sounds you are using, so their own soundbar will accommodate these sounds to the best they can be. No faff. Just amazing sounds.
Another point that springs to mind when talking about the soundbar is where it physically sits and where the sound is coming from.
When playing, do you really want the sound to come from a PA system set up to one side of you? Or do you want the sound to be directly in fount of you so you can hear the music pan from left to right? There is only one clear answer in my mind and that is I want it head-on!
I do need to speak about the pros and cons of both of course. In simple terms. The Korg PAAS is great for its size… The sound does carry well.
Gigging in a pub? No problem! Gigging in a club? Problem! If you are playing to a large number of people then I would say a separate PA system would be much more suited to the situation.
Nobody wants their playing to be drowned out by the sound of people talking; so please be mindful of this.
It’s important to get your money to stretch as far as possible when picking the correct speaker for your Korg keyboard. The Korg soundbar is marked at around £300 whereas a new PA system can reach £500 or more!
If you really want to keep the costs down then the soundbar is your best bet. Let’s not forget that the warranty will cover the soundbar also. Your wallet will thank me.
PS. If you order your Korg with or without a soundbar from us, you can expect free delivery to the UK mainland. This is just one of the ways we help you save!
