Yamaha has just raised the bar once again for stage pianists with their latest CP OS v2.0 update for the CP88 and CP73.
This free update isn’t just a tweak—it’s a complete enhancement, bringing a brand-new grand piano Voice, refined existing sounds, and some truly useful workflow upgrades that make live performances smoother than ever.
If you’re already a CP user, you’re in for a treat. If you’re not, this update might just convince you to become one!

At the heart of this update is the brand-new CFX2 concert grand piano Voice, based on Yamaha’s flagship CFX model. It delivers enhanced resonance, richer tonal expression, and an extended dynamic range, ensuring that every note you play feels more alive than ever. If you’re after the most realistic, expressive grand piano sound Yamaha has ever put into a stage piano, this is it.
Fans of the Bösendorfer Imperial 290 will also appreciate the improvements made in this update. Using valuable feedback from professional artists and users, Yamaha has fine-tuned this legendary piano voice to improve note clarity, frequency balance, and overall tonal consistency, making it an even more inspiring instrument to play.
To fully showcase these new grand piano voices, Yamaha has also included eight brand-new Live Sets. These presets combine the CFX2 and Bösendorfer Voices with various EQ and effects settings, giving you ready-to-use sounds tailored for different styles and situations.

One of the most exciting new features is USB Host Functionality, which allows you to directly connect MIDI controllers via USB. This expands your setup possibilities, making it easier than ever to integrate external controllers and devices.
For those who need precise control over their sound in a mix, Yamaha has introduced output gain adjustment of +/-24dB in 3dB increments. Whether you’re connecting to a live mixing console or a recording system, this ensures your levels are exactly where they need to be.
Previously, CP users enjoyed Seamless Sound Switching between Live Sets, but now Yamaha takes it further with Seamless Section Sound Switching. This allows sustained notes in different sections to continue naturally until you release them, ensuring a smooth and uninterrupted performance.
For players who rely on a lot of custom sounds, Live Set Pages have doubled from 20 to 40, making it easier to organize and access your patches during a performance.
Need to sync your delays on the fly? The new Tap Tempo Delay feature lets you instantly match delay time to your live performance by simply tapping on the CP’s front panel—a must-have for dynamic, expressive playing.
For the ultimate in realism, Yamaha has also added new Damper Resonance and Dry/Wet balance controls, allowing you to fine-tune your piano’s resonance to match your preferences.

Depending on which option is most appropriate, we will either contact you to discuss a bespoke ePianos delivery surcharge for goods we can’t package for a 3rd party courier, or otherwise dispatch goods via FedEx or APC.
If a courier is used, tracking will be provided by them directly, with a typical arrival time of 1-2 working days.

These items will be sent via courier (typically APC or FedEx). On occasion, depending on which is fastest, we will drop-ship directly from Yamaha to your address via UPS or Parcelforce.
Tracking will be provided by the courier, with a typical arrival time of 1-2 working days.
Smaller items, such as books, discs, etc, will be dispatched via Royal Mail second class.
After purchase, you can download the file either from the order confirmation page or the "Downloads" tab in "My Account".
If you have selected the option to receive a pre-loaded USB stick, then this will be dispatched via Royal Mail.
We will contact you regarding any pre-ordered items, and let you know when they arrive so as to arrange delivery with you at a convenient time.

This is a special order "agency" item, and comes to us directly from Yamaha on a per-order basis.
It typically takes 7-10 days for this item to arrive with us, whereupon we'll contact you to discuss the arrangement of delivery.
For any pre-orders, we will contact you as soon as the item arrives with us to schedule a delivery with you, and update you with an ETA.
Occasionally, there may be availability issues with our suppliers, in which case we'll get in touch with you to see if you're happy to wait, or if you'd like to cancel the order and receive a full refund.
