DGX670 | A Piano First
The DGX-670 features Yamaha’s GHS key action, replicating the realistic ‘weight’ of an acoustic piano, in the form of a ‘heavier’ low end and a ‘lighter’ high end.
Yamaha has imbued the DGX670 with much of that which has made their flagship Clavinova series so revered. For example, Virtual Resonance Modelling (VRM) replicates the cross-string vibration of a real grand piano’s soundboard when notes are played, delivering control over an authentic and naturally occurring characteristic to further enhance your experience.
The Yamaha DGX-670 also features Yamaha’s ‘Stereophonic Optimiser’, which is designed to offset the often-harsh effects of listening directly through headphones. This technology provides an ‘ambient barrier’ between the play and the sound, giving the sense that you are listening to the instrument without headphones at all – ideal for fatigue-free practice.
Amongst its 630 voices, you’ll discover dedicated, piano-centric controls, such as the option to decide on the acoustics of your rehearsal space, or even how far open to have your piano lid. Each of these changes will be reflected in your sound.
Sound & Features
The Yamaha DGX670 features a rich two-way speaker system, with a 12cm main speaker for defined mid and bass frequencies, and a dedicated tweeter to deliver high-end.
Yamaha’s Super Articulation technology – once a reserve of their flagship keyboard arrangers – is also present on the DGX-670, and provides the authentic characteristics of hundreds of instrument voices, from breathy sax sounds to warm and resonant strings.
The DGX670 has an ‘Adaptive Style’ feature that analyzes your playing in real-time, adjusting any backing accompaniment being used to suit the intensity of your playing. Play with a soft and mellow approach, and the accompaniment will be equally soft and mellow; play with aggression, and the style will spring into life – immersing you further into your own musical world.
The DGX-670 offers other real-time playing enhancements, such as Smart Chord – designed to produce finger-bending chord variations with ease, and Unison and Accent – expressive functions that work alongside the optional Yamaha L300 pedal system.
DGX670 | Vocal, Recording & More
Like its predecessor, the Yamaha DGX660, the DGX-670 allows you to connect a microphone for vocal accompaniment. Using the lyric read-out on the DGX670 display, you can sing along with your songs, and even apply studio-grade effects such as chorus and reverb to your voice.
You are even able to cut or ‘cancel’ the vocal on audio recordings (WAV format) playing through the DGX670 via USB, so you can replace your favourite artist’s voice with your own – ideal for karaoke and covers.
Whatever your composition, record up to 16 tracks effortlessly and export in MIDI or WAV format via USB.
Using the Yamaha DGX670 in conjunction with the Yamaha Smart Pianist app, you can explore and control the features of the instrument using your smart iOS or Android device. You can even play music from your smart device through the DGX670 using Bluetooth.
Optional stand and pedal system
Add the DGX-670 furniture stand (L-300) and piano-style 3-pedal system (LP-1) for an even more comfortable immersive playing experience.
