What’s the difference between the Yamaha P-125 and P-125A? – That’s a question we’ve been getting a lot recently.
The Yamaha P-125 is a fantastic graded-hammer 88-key instrument, with the P standing for portable.
This is one of our best-selling instruments and is great for beginner pianists who may not want to commit to a more expensive piano, or do not have the space, through to experienced players who need a portable piano for gigs.
It is also compatible with the brilliant Yamaha Smart Pianist app which Chris talks about in his Yamaha P-S500 Smart Piano review below.

The Yamaha P-125 is reasonably priced and with the extra accessories of a wooden stand and piano-style three pedals, doesn’t look out of place as a piece of furniture in a room.
Relatively little actually.
To all intents and purposes, the Yamaha P-125 and P-125A are the same.
The Yamaha P-125A has undergone a slight modification to the USB-TO-HOST output. Here’s what it’s all about.
The Yamaha P-125A features only MIDI output from the USB-TO-HOST connection, whereas, it was both MIDI and Audio in the P-125.
An audio output signal can still be taken from the AUX jack outputs on both the Yamaha P-125 and P-125A, so the change makes no practical difference.

The Yamaha P-125 has now been replaced by the P-125A and there will be no change in the price of the Yamaha P-125A.
Many people that find the Yamaha P-125 end up buying the newer Yamaha DGX-670 as it offers so many more functions and features.
