At first glance, it looks like a compact stage keyboard — and it is. But start pressing buttons, and you realise it’s also your piano, your synth, your pad machine, your delay playground, and your live set saviour. The piano sounds are genuinely lovely. Rich, responsive, and varied. You don’t just get one or two versions — you get many variations that can each set a different tone or mood.
Then, with a few simple tweaks, you can start layering in dreamy pads or atmospheric synths using the intuitive section just to the side of the piano controls. Yamaha’s clearly packed this with creative musicians in mind — the ones who like to get lost in sounds and textures.
What I love about this CK61 is how easy it is to sculpt your own sound. Whether you’re playing electric piano and adding a splash of delay or tweaking the EQ so your tone cuts through in a live mix, the tools are all right there on the front panel. You’re never digging through confusing menus — it’s all tactile and immediate.
There’s also a handy selection of filters and effects, so you can fine-tune exactly how each voice responds. It’s the kind of thing that makes you feel more connected to what you’re playing, because you’re shaping the sound in real time.
And then, of course, there are the organs. Genuinely impressive, with their own dedicated drawbar-style controls — something you hardly ever find on a keyboard this size and weight.
Let’s talk practicality for a moment. This thing is light. You can carry it in one hand. It fits in small spaces. It’s ideal for gigs, busking, jam sessions, or simply moving from room to room at home. And here’s the really clever bit — it runs on batteries, too. That means no mains lead needed if you’re playing outdoors or on the go.
And despite all of that portability, it’s not a stripped-down toy — it’s a serious tool. With electric guitars, brass, woodwind, percussion, and more sounds on board, it can genuinely cover most musical situations. Once you’ve got your perfect sound dialled in, you can save it using the Live Set registration buttons under the screen — ideal for switching quickly between presets mid-performance.

Smaller items, such as books, discs, etc, will be dispatched via Royal Mail second class.
After purchase, you can download the file either from the order confirmation page or the "Downloads" tab in "My Account".
If you have selected the option to receive a pre-loaded USB stick, then this will be dispatched via Royal Mail.
We will contact you regarding any pre-ordered items, and let you know when they arrive so as to arrange delivery with you at a convenient time.
