I’ve been having a bit of a rummage around our warehouse recently, and it reminded me just how many useful little extras we’ve got tucked away.
We tend to talk a lot about the pianos, keyboards and organs themselves, but sometimes it’s the accessories that make the biggest difference to how enjoyable or practical your setup is.
So in this video, I’ve picked out a handful of new and secondhand accessories that caught my eye, from pedals and keyboard covers to bass pedalboards, gig bags and music books.
One of the first things I found was the Yamaha FC7 volume pedal.
These are proper, heavy-duty pedals, so they stay put nicely under your foot rather than skating around the floor. Depending on your keyboard and setup, they can be used for volume control or to operate effects such as tremolo or Leslie-style rotary speaker effects.
We’ve also got some modified versions which give you additional switching options without needing a whole row of separate pedals across the floor.
Another handy little accessory is the Yamaha FC5 footswitch. These can be assigned to all sorts of jobs on compatible keyboards, including starting and stopping rhythms, triggering fills, changing registrations or controlling certain effects.
Simple, but very useful.

I also found some Stagg microphones which come complete with a cable.
A lot of modern keyboards now have microphone inputs, so you can sing through the keyboard’s own speaker system. Depending on the instrument, you may also have access to vocal harmony or vocoder effects, which can be great fun.
If you’ve got a keyboard with a mic input and have never tried it, it’s definitely worth experimenting with.
Not the most glamorous accessory perhaps, but one of the most useful: a keyboard cover.
The On-Stage cover I show in the video simply stretches over the keyboard and tightens into place, helping to keep dust off the controls and keys when you’re not playing.

This is where things get particularly interesting.
We’ve got some 13-note Ketron K8 bass pedalboards which can be used with compatible arranger keyboards, giving you proper foot-operated bass notes much like you’d have on an organ.
We also regularly get secondhand pedalboards from brands such as Roland, including larger and more substantial options for players who want a more traditional organ-style setup.
If you’re looking for something specific, give us a call because we often have unusual secondhand accessories that haven’t made it onto the website yet.
Another clever bit of kit I found is the Genos Magic system from Beasley Music.
This works alongside compatible Yamaha keyboards and expands what you can do with voices and registrations, allowing you to create much more elaborate setups than you’d normally be able to access directly from the keyboard.
It’s a fairly specialist bit of equipment, but for the right player it opens up some very clever possibilities.
We’ve also got loads of secondhand music books.
There are books for piano, keyboard and organ covering everything from love songs and popular classics to music from different decades.
A lot of the keyboard books use easy-to-follow busker-style notation, with a melody line, chord symbols and chord diagrams, making them ideal if you enjoy simply sitting down and playing through familiar songs.
We’ve usually got bundle deals available too, so these can be a very inexpensive way to build up your music collection.
Finally, there are gig bags.
We stock new keyboard bags in different sizes, many with useful pockets for your music, power supply and accessories, and we also get plenty of secondhand bags through the warehouse.

Depending on which option is most appropriate, we will either contact you to discuss a bespoke ePianos delivery surcharge for goods we can’t package for a 3rd party courier, or otherwise dispatch goods via FedEx or APC.
If a courier is used, tracking will be provided by them directly, with a typical arrival time of 1-2 working days.
Example products: Yamaha PSR-SX920, Yamaha P-225, Yamaha NP-15.
These items will be sent via courier (typically APC or FedEx). On occasion, depending on which is fastest, we will drop-ship directly from Yamaha to your address via UPS or Parcelforce.
Tracking will be provided by the courier, with a typical arrival time of 1-2 working days.
Smaller items, such as books, discs, etc, will be dispatched via Royal Mail second class.
After purchase, you can download the file either from the order confirmation page or the "Downloads" tab in "My Account".
If you have selected the option to receive a pre-loaded USB stick, then this will be dispatched via Royal Mail.
We will contact you regarding any pre-ordered items, and let you know when they arrive so as to arrange delivery with you at a convenient time.
