Our biggest ever Tyros/Genos club

In February we had our biggest ever turnout to our Tyros/Genos club here in the store. Yamaha’s Ian House answered questions and gave tips and tricks to our members and there was standing room only! Thank you to everyone who came along for your support once again. The next meeting will be Thursday 15th March at 11am, just let us know if you would like to come along, and it’s free!

Yamaha Genos carrying case review

If you travel with your Genos keyboard then you find this very useful. We have in stock four different types of carrying case and you can see David comparing them in the latest video newsletter below (episode 2).

Something a bit different – Accordion meets Genos

In amongst all this fabulous technology we occasionally find ourselves in possession of something from the relative dark ages! In this case it was a Gabbanelli accordion and by sheer coincidence we also had a visit from Tom, one of our regular customers, who play one very well. So we just had to get them together and you can hear the results in our latest video newsletter below. (episode 2)

Tom also plays the Genos very well too and we’ve included a snippet of him playing in the video newsletter too. Tom is blind and when transferring from the Tyros 5 to Genos we had concerns about him being able to feel his way around, but with the use of something else low tech (blue tack) we found a working solution (see pic below).

Get your free ‘Largo’ Genos registration

We are truly spoiled with all of this fantastic technology around us, we really do get to play with all the latest toys! Being musicians we are occasionally inspired by a great piece of music and an instrument to create someone ourselves. Chris has been having fun on the Genos this week and has made a registration which we are giving away for free. You can hear Chris playing the registration in the latest video blog below (episode 2).

If you would like your free copy for your own Genos just email us on and we will send you a copy for free.

We have a winner in our cap competition! – Congratulations goes to Mr Roger Diehl of Newcastle

We asked our customers to send in a photo of themselves wearing the Genos Tipsters cap in front of their new Genos keyboard for the chance to win a Warner weekend away for two. We had so many entries (see picture above) but of course there could be only one winner and you can see the draw taking place in the video below. David even called the winner to let him know!

Thank you to everyone who entered and make sure you hold onto your hats though as we will be holding more competitions where you’ll need them later on in the year.

David is here with the latest organ news.

We have a large selection of preowned organs here in our store in Banbury and David has picked out a few of his favourites currently in stock to show you. Watch the video above to see what’s new.

Jamie gets a new van.

Our busiest delivery driver Jamie Halliday has received a new van. As many of you know he traverses the country every week bringing people their new toys! And naturally wear and tear takes it toll, so the time has come to replace the old van with a new one with all mod cons installed. So expect to receive your instruments faster than ever before! Maybe he will be seeing you soon?

Yamaha DGX-650 vs DGX-660 – What’s the difference?

recently had the pleasure of trying out the new Yamaha DGX-660. We’re getting LOADS of people asking what the difference is between this and it’s predecessor the DGX-650, so I made a video to try and clear things up.

As you will see in the video Yamaha have made a real effort to make this instrument more suitable for singer-songwriters, the DGX-650 was already very good if you wanted to write music, but it lacked a microphone input, that has been added in the DGX-660 along with a few more things that will be so useful for the singer-songwriters out there.

We have made a special DGX-660 bundle for singer-songwriters which you can see on our website below. If you’re buying for yourself or as a gift for someone else it will include all you need to get writing and get performing. (Click image below).
